The Kalkaska Winterfest is a winter event for everyone to come and watch and get out of the house for a fun-filled weekend of outdoor fun.  The fun ranges from sled dog races with a wide range of participants.  From young to experienced everyone has fun competing in the annual event.  There is even an accredited weight pull competition where dogs of all sizes compete for the strongest dog, per weight class.  You would be amazed at the amount these creatures can move, and how well trained they have become.  If your not an outdoors person strong enough to brave the cold then come and check out the silent auctions, breakfast fundraisers, and many other great events related to the Winterfest festivities.  Fun for all, where everyone is welcome to participate!!!
