Trout Festival Grand Parade The 2002 Trout Festival parade had an excellent turnout despite the weather local viewers were dealt. Temperatures didn’t much exceed 45 degrees, with a very cool breeze passing through. However, the weather couldn’t keep these avid spectators from witnessing the annual event. The attire wasn’t typical for a spring day though. Winter hats, gloves, and jackets were shielding the parade spectators from the elements. Keeping warm was on the minds of everyone brave enough to leave the confines of their comfortable homes. The shiny cars and decorative floats filed through one after another for the people to gaze upon. Fire trucks, police cars, and emergency response vehicles filled the downtown avenue with stunning lights and sounds so recognizable echoing throughout the city. Local businesses and clubs participated in many different ways. Whether it’s the Rotary Club on their three wheelers or the winterfest committee with sled dogs and a full-fledged musher, the areas people were represented in a very enjoyable event. Fun was had by all at this year’s 2002 Trout festival parade. If you’ve never been to the celebrations in Kalkaska it’s an awesome time where everyone is welcome and everyone has a great time. |
